About Me

My yoga journey began in 2006 when I discovered Yoga as a way to alleviate the stress and anxiety I was experiencing after leaving an abusive marriage and becoming a single parent. Yoga, as well as my faith, was an integral part of my healing journey and my practice of Yoga continues to provide me with mental, physical and spiritual benefits. I became a Yoga teacher with the goal of sharing the gift of Yoga with others the way it was shared with me.

In July of 2018, I completed the 220 Hour Yoga teacher training with Yoga Legacy of Raleigh, NC. I also have certificates in Senior Yoga, Yoga Modifications and Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) Yoga. I believe that learning should never stop so in October of 2018 I enrolled in the 300 Hour Yoga teacher training at Asheville Yoga Center (AYC) in Asheville, NC. I completed my training at Asheville Yoga Center in June of 2021 and am now registered with the Yoga Alliance as a RYT-500 Yoga teacher. Additionally, in April of 2019 I completed the 20 hour Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY) training at Wilmington Yoga Center, Wilmington, NC with David Emerson from the Center of Trauma and Embodiment at Justice Resource Institute.
